Our Story
From a kitchen table to a room with a door.
This is a sample telling of the studio. The dates, names, and photographs will be yours to replace. The shape of the page is ready.
The beginning
A kitchen table
Ihaa Arts started as a few hours after work: clay drying on a newspaper, thread sorted into jars, sketches pinned above the sink.
First showing
A borrowed table
The first pieces were set out at a weekend market. People picked them up, turned them over, and asked how they were made.
A room of our own
The studio
A single room became the workshop. Wheels, a loom, and shelves for work in progress. The door stays open for visits by appointment.
With others
Workshops
Neighbours came to learn a stitch, a coil, or a wash of ink. Teaching slowed the making down in the best way.
Now
Still at the bench
The studio is small on purpose. This website is the front door. The photographs and the final wording will follow.
“Make it so someone can use it on an ordinary Tuesday.”
